<포장: 0.5부터 3차까지>는 하나의 사물을 위한 포장 사물, 또 그 포장 사물을 포장하기 위한 또 다른 포장 사물을 만드는 방식의 연쇄적인 논리로 만들어졌다. 포장재의 형태는 포장되는 사물의 형태와 음각과 양각의 구조를 갖게 되는 네가티브 스페이스가 되는데, 포장을 포장하는 과정에서는 그 음각과 양각의 관계가 계속해서 반복되고 역전된다. 작업이 발생시키는 이러한 논리적 구조로부터 마주보는 거울 속의 형상이 무한히 파생되는 듯한 일종의 수열적인 구조를 발견할 수 있었다. 어떤 것의 반대의 반대는 다시 그 어떤 것이 되는 단순한 논리를 매 단계 통과하며 포장의 목적과 기능을 변주하는 식으로 포장재의 형태를 결정했다. 포장하는 사물과 포장되는 사물의 관계는 매 단계 뒤집어지며 선후의 개념을 잃어버린다.

The work is created from a serial logic, producing a packaging object, then another package for the first one, and a third for the second. In the process of packaging the package, the relationship between positive and negative space is repeated, as if a shape is infinitely reflected in mirrors facing one another. This is because the form of the package necessarily becomes a negative space in order to wrap the object being packaged. Seonhee and I found a kind of mathematical aesthetic in this simple logic—that the reverse of the negative space of a thing becomes the thing itself—and we explored variations of material and form at each step, following the purpose and function of the package, such as mobility, protection, possession, or gifting. The relationship between the packaging object and the packaged one becomes blurred as they are continuously reversed, making it difficult to tell which comes first and which comes later.
